From the Shop Floor to Industry Leadership

Clayton’s career began humbly but with immense drive. Starting as a teenager at a Meineke Muffler shop, Clayton knew little about auto services—but that didn’t hold him back. Over five years, his ambition and determination propelled him from the shop floor to store manager. By the time he left Meineke, 10 years later, Clayton had mastered the skills of exhaust, brake, and suspension work.

But Clayton didn’t stop there. His next chapter brought him into the dealership world, where he applied the same grit and curiosity. Clayton started at a local Volkswagen dealership, working his way up to Journeyman Technician in just three years. Fueled by a hunger for professional growth, he embraced every challenge and actively expanded his technical expertise across vehicles and brands.

A Global Perspective

Clayton’s career took an international leap when he accepted a role in the Cayman Islands in 2005. Over five years, he honed his skills at two dealerships, working on vehicles across well-known brands like Chrysler, Jeep, Mitsubishi, Toyota, and Jaguar. What set Clayton apart was his commitment to mastering all makes and models, a philosophy that earned him respect and broadened his capabilities. His adaptability deepened his technical expertise and cross-cultural understanding, which he has carried throughout his career.

Returning Stateside and Joining Axiom

After returning to the United States, Clayton transitioned back to work at Royal Gate Dodge and independent shops—balancing technical roles with leadership as Service Advisor. However, it was in 2021 when his career would take a pivotal turn. Tye Wilson, recognizing his potential, welcomed Clayton to Axiom.

Since joining Axiom in July of 2021, Clayton has showcased unparalleled dedication, innovation, and technical acumen. His rise through the ranks is a reflection of his values and contributions:

  • July 2021: Clayton joined Axiom with a wealth of technical expertise and leadership experience.
  • February 28, 2022: Promoted to Supervisor, transforming team dynamics with collaborative leadership.
  • January 30, 2023: Elevated to Claims Manager, where he focused on streamlining claims processes and enhancing client satisfaction.
  • First Quarter 2024: Re-certified in 10 ASE areas, earning the prestigious Master Automobile Technician, Light Diesel Technician, and L1 Advanced Level Specialist certifications.

Clayton’s continual pursuit of excellence and technical mastery has strengthened our claims processes, ensuring our clients receive the top-level service they deserve.
